Her early days played out in Tacoma until her family made the move to Bellingham in 1935, where she grew up, went to school, and proudly graduated from Bellingham High School in 1946. She even had a brief stint at Bellingham Normal School.
In order to provide for her family, Betty’s life was a patchwork of occupations in Bellingham and Ferndale. In Sequim, Washington, on February 11, 1980, they exchanged vows after love knocked in the shape of Larry Harris. They shared basic pleasures like fishing excursions and trailer camping while they established their life in Sedro-Woolley. Betty had a knack for finding peace in creative outlets, from painting and crafts to arranging flowers. In Bellingham, she was actively involved in the PTA during her son’s younger years, and in Sedro-Woolley, she proudly served as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Left to carry on her legacy are her son, Dan Hoff, and his wife, Patty of Bellingham, along with grandsons Sean L. Hoff and Christopher N. Hoff. Betty is also survived by step-children Barb Harris, Nancy Rigacci and her husband, Mike, and Steve Harris, along with step-grandchildren Damon, Guy, Tawnee Harris, and Ashley Rigacci.
